Visit to East Lancashire District Meeting
 
On Saturday September 11th. 2021 a number of West Lancashire Allied Masonic Degree Masons ventured over the border to visit the neighbouring district of East Lancashire on a quite pleasant autumnal morning. The Masonic Hall in Rochdale had been prepared in accordance with the current measures to make it covid safe.
Visiting District Grand Prefects
At 10.45 am after a welcoming coffee and bacon bap we donned our regalia and made our way to the main temple where there was reserved seating.
 
There was only one procession this year, the Right Worshipful District Grand Prefect Mervyn Frank Wilson and his District Officers. When the District Officers were at their stations the District Grand Prefect opened District Grand Council and the District Grand Prefect was saluted to which he suitably responded.
The first item was to remember those Brethren that had been called to higher service.
West Lancashire Delegation
 
The visiting District Grand Prefects from no less than seven Districts including our own District Grand Prefect Right Worshipful Brother Graham Paul Snape were saluted and the visiting Brethren were introduced.

After a Muster roll call of District Grand Officers and Councils of East Lancashire District the District Grand Prefect attended to the items of an administrative nature. The next item of business was to appoint and invest District Grand Officers the first one was to invest his Deputy Worshipful Brother Peter Hegarty Past Grand Junior Deacon
The District Grand Prefect addressed District Grand Council. There being no other business the District Grand Prefect closed District Grand Council. The District Grand Director of Ceremony Worshipful Brother Chris Welton Past Grand Junior Deacon formed a procession of District Grand Officers and retired from the temple.
West meets East
 
After a short break the Brethren were called to the dining room where they partook of a splendid lunch of local fayre. The food was good the companionship was good and the toasts thankfully short and all to soon we were heading back to West Lancashire another morning of most enjoyable Allied Freemasonry
